Compay Segundo was a legend of Cuban music and Duets was released in 2001 when Company was 94 years old, two years before his passing.

The album includes new recordings of classic songs of his Cuban music repertoire. Compay sang with an impressive list of artists from different cultures; Charles Aznavour, Khaled, Cesaria Evora, Silvio Rodríguez, Pablo Milanés, Omara Portuondo, Eliades Ochoa, Santiago Auserón, and even the actor Antonio Banderas.

This vinyl edition includes an essay (in Spanish and English) by Compay's producer Luis Lázaro.
